'Visionary' studio nominated for TEC Award

Since its opening earlier this year, Manifold Recording has become one of the most talked-about studios in the U.S. thanks to its staff, equipment and design. Here's something else to talk about: Manifold Recording has been nominated for a TEC (Technical Excellence & Creativity) Award in the Studio Project Design category. The facility, which houses a new API Vision, was designed by renowned acoustician Wes Lachot to display a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architectural sensibility; Lachot designed the entire studio space around the engineering board's equilateral listening triangle. Given by the TEC Foundation, the TEC Awards are actually decided by the voters — that would be you. Please make sure to cast your vote by visiting the TEC Awards page today.

Two 1608s ready for install

You may have noticed there has been a lot of 1608 news lately...well, that's simply because there are a lot of 1608s out there! And now, the world is about to get two more with the console installations of API customers Adam Zirkin and Jack Wheeler. We wish both Adam and Jack "Happy Recording" and hope to hear some of their tracks soon!

Happy Thanksgiving

As this year's holidays are quickly coming upon us, we at API want to wish all of our loyal customers and website visitors a very happy Thanksgiving. We certainly have a lot to be thankful for here, having had another successful year of brand distribution and awareness, and we won't soon forget who we have to thank for that: All of you. So, from all of us to all of you: Happy Thanksgiving!

Wisseloord console and API crew prepare for trip to the Netherlands

After many months of anticipation, Wisseloord Studios is quickly approaching completion. That of course means that we will be sending both our install crew and Wisseloord's Vision console to the Netherlands very soon! Weighing in at 64 channels, Wisseloord Studios' Vision had to be disassembled prior to shipping, which is no quick or easy task. Once the parts arrive in the Netherlands, our team will get to work and install them in the revamped studio. Formal press release and photo to come!

AES honors API founder

This year's AES convention was particularly special for those of us at API, as our company's founder Saul Walker was awarded the AES Silver Medal Award. Mr. Walker's award distinguishes him as a key contributor to the world of audio engineering through outstanding development and achievement — something that those of us at API loudly applaud. Congratulations, Saul Walker, from all of us at API.

New Banner Campaign

If you are old enough to remember,
then you know what to expect;
if you're younger than 30,
then here's how it went:

If you were to drive along any major U.S. highways during the 1920s through 1960s, you very well might pass a distinct series of small road signs that displayed individual lines of a humorous poem followed by a final sign that stated: Burma-Shave. Burma-Shave, an American shaving cream manufacturer, became widely known for these campaigns and as a result has been referenced throughout pop culture over the years.

Well, we thought it was time to bring back a touch of this Americana nostalgia. We've created a new web banner campaign filled with lighthearted, fun and quirky poems about API. If you read them and smile, then we've hit our goal.

Here's the first in our series, which is currently running on GearSlutz.com.
