Our traveling team is finally back from NAMM, after limited snow delays. The real storm of the weekend was at our booth in Anaheim, where it was non-stop traffic in and out. The whole line of API modules and racks was on display, including the 505-DI which won one of two TEC awards at the show. The second TEC award, (both accepted by API's Director of Engineering Jeff Bork) was given to the BOX console, which attracted a lot of attention from engineers, studio owners, producers and students alike. CLIO award winner Mike Rodriguez (Trailer Park Inc., Hollywood), was on hand all weekend to demonstrate the BOX's workflow when accompanied with a DAW and a controller. API personnel and sales folks fielded questions, especially about how to incorporate the BOX into a variety of studio setups. For all the attention the BOX received, API's 1608 console kept the booth equally filled as mixers and owners all over the globe expressed interest and traded stories about working on the console. Demos of the 1608 automation were a crowd-pleaser, and we are convinced the show is just the first act in what's sure to be a great 2015.
