API Makes (Fictional) History

ProSoundNews Europe had news that API was included on a unique project: a musical interpretation of Tolkein's The Simarillon. This singular recording experience conceptualized and executed by four Italian Musicians and Composers, required very specialized gear—including an API 3124+. Ivan Tiraferri, Nicolo Faccioto, Federisco Mecozzi and Mattia Guerra called upon the 23 piece G. Lettimi Orchestra to take listeners through the first section of The Simarillon, fittingly titled "Music of the Ainur". The book is a sort of history of middle earth, and has never had a musical adaptation written for it before. The artists recorded their work on site at the Scolca Abbey—a structure built in the 15th century. For more on this unique project, see the digital edition of PSN Europe.
