Steely Dan is well known for many things, not the least of which being their high-quality standards for front of house gear. It's no surprise, then, that FOH Engineer Mark Dowdle has a collection of API gear currently used for Steely Dan's live performances. The units include two API 2500 compressors—one used on the drum buss and the other on the keyboard rig—a 500V rack, four 527 compressors, and two 560 EQs. Steely Dan just wrapped up a ten day encore performance of their Rockabye/Gollie Angel tour at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The tour itself ran from April to October.
