Last week we had some very important visitors from Japan stop by API's Maryland headquarters. Tomoyuki Fukuda is the Managing Director at Studio Tanta in Tokyo, which will soon be installing a 48 channel fully-fitted Legacy AXS console and a 32 channel automated 1608 console. The 1608 will serve as the centerpiece of Studio B, while Studio A will house the AXS console—the very first AXS to be commissioned in Japan.
Mr. Fukuda stopped by to tour the factory and see the consoles in production, including his AXS, slated for delivery in early 2018. He was accompanied by core members of API's Japanese Distributor, MixWave, who completed the sale of the consoles. Staff included Hirokazu Saika, MixWave's Managing Director, Manabu Kawamura, MixWave's Engineer, and Hiya Nagaoka from MixWave's Sales Department.
Dan Zimbelman, API Director of Sales, comments, "Following the successful placement of two 64 channel API Vision consoles at NHK (also in Tokyo), we're excited to place two additional API consoles into the first new 'from the ground up' studio built in Japan in many years. Tanta's Studio A with an API AXS console, and Studio B with the 1608, is going to give the music scene in Japan a new, exciting alternative for high quality audio recording."
