Blues musician Sonny Landreth's album
Recorded Live In Lafayette has just been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category. The album was recorded live on a 48 channel 1608 console, and that particular 1608 was previously used on a Grammy nominated U2 album. Producer and Engineer Tony Daigle recorded the tracks for the album at Landreth's live show at the Acadiana Center for the Arts this past January, and also mixed the record.
In the acknowledgements of
Recorded Live, Landreth thanks API President Larry Droppa "for making available the magic of a very special API 48-channel 1608 recording console." We'd have to agree that after tracking two Grammy nominated albums in a row, this 1608 is certainly special.
Congratulations are definitely in order to Sonny Landreth and his band for their stellar performance and Tony Daigle for his excellent production.
