API Makes for a "Sanctuary" in the Caribbean

Sound on Sound magazine recently highlighted The Sanctuary, a brand new studio in New Providence (the Bahamas) that has been built on some legendary analog gear, including API.

The Caribbean hasn't seen a major recording studio since the closings of AIR Montserrat and Compass Point several years ago. From the beginning, The Sanctuary was meant to be the Caribbean's new landmark recording studio, and was "purpose-built to rival the best recording spaces in the world."

Naturally, the studio boasts an impressive gear list, and "an outboard collection that leaves no wishes unfulfilled, including a 500-series chassis with assorted API EQs." An API 2500 is also used to handle dynamics.

In the few months it's been open The Sanctuary has already seen clients such as Alicia Keys and Shania Twain, due in large part to its top-notch equipment. Investor and entrepreneur Charles Goldstuck, who helped conceive the studio, says, "There is no substitute for creative teams being in the facility together with the best equipment."
