In 2017, studio, music label, production company and publishing group Made In Memphis Entertainment (MIME) opened its doors to the public. MIME's Chief Executive Officer, legendary Stax Records songwriter David Porter, sought to revitalize the Memphis music scene with his operation. Porter and his colleagues chose a 32 channel API Legacy AXS console as the centerpiece of the new studio.

"The legendary API sound combined with the AXS's feature set made for an unbeatable combination for Studio A," confirmed Porter. "We couldn't be happier with our new console."

MIME has several in-house artists including Porcelan, Jessica Ray, and Matt Michael, whose careers have taken off in the Memphis music scene since partnering with MIME. Much of the work from MIME's in-house artists has been captured with the Legacy AXS. Also, "4U Recording" The commercial studio side of Made In Memphis has seen recording sessions with Jozzy, Kirk Whalum, Jordan Smith, Sarah Grace, Money Bagg Yo and Avon Dale to name a few.

A huge part of MIME's success is due to Chief Engineer Kerry Kernan's considerable experience and professional expertise.

Kernan noted, "The AXS has proven to be a versatile console for our projects from large band sessions, overdubs and mixing to critical listening, etc. The many Input / output and routing options are really useful as we transition quickly from different types of sessions. I like the fact that the AXS remains a truly analog board, yet offers some nice options for automation and DAW control."
