"In my mastering chain, I use the 2500 as the final compressor. It is absolutely gorgeous to help glue everything together, and get 3 dBu without hearing anything other than great sound. I can get more punch or a silky kind of compression just playing with the tone and different settings of compression. I really can't finish my mastering chain without it.

"I also have a 512c mic preamp, which is my first choice for vocals and guitars. I absolutely love the mid frequencies it gives me; I really can touch the sound. It's irresistible!"

The Basement Recording Studio opened in 2000 to provide a professional recording experience to musicians in the Vicenza area and beyond. The studio offers two control rooms and two recovery rooms to create, arrange, and mix tracks. It is operated by Federico Pelle, who has 15 years of experience as a composer, arranger, musician and sound engineer. When not in the studio, Federico studies Music and New Technologies at the A. Pedrollo Conservatory in Vicenza.
