Even we were impressed with the sheer volume of winners associated with API consoles and gear at this year's Grammy Awards. Just a few nominees and winners who used API included Shawn Everett, Dave Cobb, Tom Coyne, Vance Powell and more—all of whom took home at least one Grammy for artists like Taylor Swift, Alabama Shakes, Chris Stapleton, The Weeknd and many others.
An example of API's Grammy-winning strength can be found in Sound on Sound Magazine's recent interview with Shawn Everett, where he discusses the role his 1608 and the 550A EQs played in creating the Best Engineered Album of 2015, Alabama Shakes' "Sound and Color". Everett discussed why and how he decided to mix the entire album on his personal 1608, as well as re-mixing tracks with API EQs. Everett and Alabama Shakes were also awarded Grammys for Best Alternative Music Album for "Sound and Color", and Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for "Don't Wanna Fight".
