The 1608 Tracks Lin-Manuel Miranda's New Charity Single

NBC Nightly News recently covered composer and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda in his efforts to raise money for hurricane recovery efforts in Puerto Rico. Miranda is best known for his hit musicals Hamilton and In the Heights, and sales of his new single "Almost Like Praying," will go to the Hispanic Federation's Hurricane Relief Fund. The track features artists such as Jenifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Gloria Estefan and, sung mostly in Spanish, names 78 Puerto Rican towns and serves as a celebration and tribute to the island.

The track was recorded at Atlantic Studios in New York City, Glenwood Place Studios in Burbank, The Village Recorder in Los Angeles, and Circle House in Miami. Atlantic Studios and Circle House are both home to a 1608 console, and in NBC's feature as well as the single's music video, the 1608 gets some screen time alongside some of the biggest Latinx artists in the world.

API is honored to have the 1608 be part of such a significant relief effort, and will be donating to the Hispanic Federation's Hurricane Relief Fund. You can also contribute to Puerto Rico's recovery here.
