API just shipped its second 1608 console to FLCC, this one a 32 channel automated version. This console will join FLCC's recently expanded 1608 and 48 channel Vision console.
"Installing a Vision console here at FLCC was the catalyst that started it all," says Bob Potter, Recording Studio Manager at FLCC.
"The digital consoles had served us quite dependably for several years but when they stopped being supported by their own manufacturer, we saw the writing on the wall and knew it was time to consider analog desks once again as replacements. Our Vision sounds just amazing and the students here find it quite easy to work with, so when it came time to update the gear in our Storyk designed rooms, the 1608 in a 32 channel format was a no-brainer for Studio B."
"It's very likely it has become our most used studio since doing so. That made for an easy decision for us when it came time to purchase another console for Studio A this Fall, and now it, too, will benefit from 32 channels of 1608, but this one will also incorporate automation."
