The prestigious Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore recently installed a 1608 console with API's P-Mix automation in StudioD of the Leakin Hall complex. Students in the Recording Arts and Sciences programs, which include both Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees, get hands-on with the 1608 as they familiarize themselves with analog mixdown techniques. Performances by the Conservatory's music students regularly are recorded for use by the Recording Arts and Sciences classes. The custom furniture built for the 1608 has expansion capability in anticipation of adding a 16 channel 1608 expander in the near future.
