You can find API 1608s at a number of universities, including American University, the New England School of Communications and even at Hochschule Für Musik in Nürenberg, Germany, but now you'll be able to find a brand-new console at Cal State Chico. The Music Industry & Technology program there has picked a 32-channel 1608 to complement its unique program, which is built upon the unchanging elements of great recording: building ideal signal flow, listening and understanding music, and inspiring great performances. Prof. Keith Seppanen told us that the program chose the 1608 because it allows students to learn signal flow in a tangible way. He also mentioned that our reputation of manufacturing extremely durable equipment weighed in on his decision, as Cal State Chico's studio is used 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.
