If stranded on a desert island, the first question (for most of us) probably wouldn't be "what audio gear do I need?" However, this is precisely what ProSound News asked of several audio professionals in the January issue. Apparently, studio owner and engineer Paul Horbain (ReadyMix, North Hollywood, CA), didn't need to give the question much thought. "For me, it's the API 3124+...I just love the API too much. The Pearlman [microphone] through the API is instant vibe on a vocal and gives it a character that makes it sound authentic. It sounds musical."
